Regional GDP: the Calabria to 67,5 % of the European average
According to the new regional data GDP per head for 2005 published at EUROSTAT on February 12, 16 of 84 regions of the objective “Convergence“ (those that beforehand were defined Ob.1) have a GDP per head (in terms of standard of purchasing power) of at least 75 % of the average UE 27. Of these 16 regions, 3 would have still a GDP per head inferior to 75 % of the preceding average UE 25: the increase of the GDP per head of these regions, in statistical terms, Â é due to the adhesion of Bulgaria and Romania.
The Calabria itself  é testified on a GDP expressed in termin of PPS (equality of purchasing power) drives at 30.346 million Euro that are equivalent to a GDP prounderstood of 15.121 Euro.
Considered that you prounderstand the relative GDP to 27 European countries  é a state equal to 22.400. It fact the GDP 100 prounderstood middle European, the Calabria has an income equal to 67,5 % of the European GDP.
This datum  é very important, because it represents the indicator to establish if a region has right or less to the Structural funds.
The Calabria can be very quiet why 67,5% Â é being distant enough of the prophetic one 75 % that would exclude it from the banquet of the structural funds.
Other regions of the objective have made convergence record instead the next results: Campania 66,9; Puglia 68,1; Basilicata 74,3; Sicily 67,4.
