The youth thinks of next 50 years of Europe
European Schoolnet and the Museum of the Europe invite groups of students of age included between the 14 to 20 years to participate in a competition and to do proof from group spirit to express their ideas and reflexions on next 50 years of the European Union, with a look also to all that has been realised from 1957.
The competition has the objective of improving and promoting the education to the European nationality in the schools, in the year in which the Europe celebrates his 50 anniversary.
The competition applies to groups of students who attend schools or organisations that members of the European Union agree to activity extracurriculari in 27 countries. The groups of students are invited to send works that are the result of activity of class and that have been realised by means of an interdisciplinary approach (that involves that is more educational matters). Each group must be co-ordinated at two teachers'.
The theme of the competition is “50 years together in the diversity”. The works in competition must be constituted at a test and at a visual composition. The test must reply to the questions: According to you which are the greatest challenges that the European Union will have to face in next 50 years? How can they be faced? The visual composition must be based on the theme the Europe in our daily life.
There is a journey in palio to Brussels, to visit the Museum of the Europe, in the March 2008. The winning squads will be 27, one for each country of the UE. Each squad will be accompanied by two teachers who have co-ordinated the works.

This initiative is really laudable, important and significant. I am a teacher who has worked with his class and has participated in the competition with two works. Today the youth still does not know the Europe, is not informed and instead they have participated with great entusiamso and want to do and to learn. They have written, have searched for, have worked, in morning, in afternoon and to house. Apart from those that will be the final results, the experience is necessary indubbiamnete to repeat.
